the ghost of funny things past
Isn't it great when someone reminds you of a hilarious thing you had forgotten? For instance, today I was at the grocery store with my friend Ghenette and I said something about not embarassing her in the store. She replied that after the singing incident, nothing should embarass me in a store. I had forgotten the time she and I had been shopping for a stapler in, well, in Staples, and 'Run to You' came on the radio. Then we kind of started singing it, kind of loud. Then the guy who had gone to check on staplers for us came back and we both immediately stopped singing and were all straight-faced as though we hadn't been jammin' to the 80s in a store aisle. But he knew we had. And we knew he knew. So then we ran away from Staples and laughed for about an hour. It was great.
